If only life was animated...

This day has been some what rough, my friends:( I won't give any explanation...it's nothing really...just having one of those not-so-wonderful days. I did find a genius website called spotify.com which lets you listen and download as much free music as your heart desires...so I've basically been reveling in my favorite tunes all day~Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Grace Kelly by Mika, and just about every musical you can imagine...especially Chess<3 Have you ever heard the song Taylor, the Latte Boy? Ahh, absolutely perfect in every way is all I have to say about it! There's one line in the song that goes, "Who'd have thought that love could be so caffinated?" Is that beautiful or what?! Sorry, I'm a huge coffee fan...especially iced coffee with just a spoonful of vanilla ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon...perfection! Anyways, I posted these brilliant illustrations by artist Josie Portillo simply because I long to jump into her animated world! You know in Mary Poppins how Mary, Bert, and the children jump into Bert's chalk masterpieces? Well, that's exactly what I wish I could do with Josie's art! Her style kind of reminds me of the animation in 101 Dalmations:) Thank you Josie for brightening my not-so-bright day!

No Business Like Show Business

There is absolutely nothing more wonderful than being onstage. This summer my dear dad and I performed in Hello, Dolly! It was divine! I'm sure you've noticed that I'm crying in about half of the pictures...don't worry...I wasn't PMSing during the entire show...My character, named Ermengarde, is known to wail!!! It was a challenge, but I tried to mimic Lucy from the Peanuts cartoon, looking straight up to the heavens, clenching my fists and letting out a "WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! while stomping my feet like a child off of Super Nanny! It was quite fun! My partner, Michael called me Armageddon which seemed to fit quite appropriately;) Oh, and my daddy! Boy, am I a proud daughter! You see my dad kinda has two left feet...let's just say I didn't get my dancing feet from him:P But, you wouldn't believe how much he improved in his dancing this summer! He and I would stay up late after rehearsal and practice his dance steps by the dim light of the kitchen...he would even show my friends when they came over, giving them a free preview! I tear up a little thinking about my dad, performing his heart out<3 It's been almost a month since the final curtain closed on Hello, Dolly! and I miss it more than anything..."There's magic in the theater, and the theater is magic!" Beautiful words and so true! I miss the adrenaline rush and the stifled laughs backstage...those out-of-breath moments after a dance number when you and your partner are giving each other whispers of encouragement like "Almost over" and "Don't forget to sparkle" and then "Ah, thank God, the curtain's closing!" It's all magic...every single bit of it!"

Love

I can't wait find the one!

Bedrooms that intrigue me

Is there anything more welcoming than white sheets speckled with buttery sunshine?
Perfectly marvelous and unique! The canopy photography on the wall is genius and the blue stripes and muted pink wooden headboard make me smile:)

This room makes me sleepy. I can't imagine how cozy this room would be when rain is pattering on the windows and you're all toasty under a quilt with Constant Comment orange spice tea simmering in a cheery rainy day mug.

Saying "Soporific"

Today I ate leftovers for lunch. I gobbled down turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, and thick, rich gravy...a regular Thanksgiving-in-July meal. Oh, and who can forget the melt-in-your-mouth cheesecake I had afterwards with a cup of Folgers decaf in a cozy brown mug with gold mermaids on it. Afterwards, I felt rather warm and drowsy...the lunch was soporific which means "to make sleepy."
Isn't soporific so fun to say? The word itself is like candy for the ears as it flows from the lips.
Time for a nap!
